5 ways to spot liars

A friend says you look beautiful (or ok) eventhough your new dress makes you look like a hideous creature from the outer space..
Another friend says your make up is ok eventhough a passing by stranger will mistake you as a Chinese Opera Actress..
You tell your friend that you still didn't finish reading the unique copy of the best-selling book she lent you because you are too busy with the baby, but the fact is you accidently left the book at your hometown 500km away..

Do we need this so-called white lies (or grey..what ever you wish to call it)..or can we tell if people are purposely lying right before your very own nose..? I read a book and it stated 5 ways (out of thousands) to spot that are lies in the air..

1) Hear the voices
Hear the voice cracks when it isn't the cracking type? Pay attention to voices changes.. (From my very own observation.. I tend to talk faster when I lie...( yes, I do lie sometimes)..as if I wanted to finish the lie faster... so I can be on the truth (aka my safer grounds) ground again..)

2) Watch the words
First- liars tend to use fewer first personal pronouns - words like I, me, mine than truth tellers.. They tend to use " The book was sent yesterday"..instead of " I sent the book yesterday"..

3) Look past shifty eyes..
This is an ancient way to spot liars.. They (or we) liars tend to be have unfocused eyes when lying.. we (or they) tend to look away when answering questions that were supposed to be easy to answer..lying make us difficult to maintain the eye gaze.. or sometimes.. people tend to increase their eye gaze while lying..maybe they concentrate more on the lying so that they forget to batt their eyelashes.. :)

4) Get better at Body Language
Mouth can lie..but not the body..
Liars are always (should be) look uncomfortable when lying.. pay attention to changes of body posture, hand gestures... It doesnt necessarily mean someone's lying..but it's a hot spot to evaluate ( I copied this very sentence from the book)..

5) Check for "emotional" leaks
The micro-expression that flit across people's faces often expose what they are trulu feeling or thinking.
For example..we may be able to spot a liar from her/his smile. True enjoyment will show not only from the involvment of lips but the muscles that orbit the eyes...from there, we can spot the smiling eyes..
and there are masking smiles which are made to cover anger, fear or sdness
